Project overview

Cladnation was appointed to carry out the cladding and SFS installation to the area where the former Debenhams store had been demolished. The works formed part of the first stage of the new gardens being created at St David’s Shopping Centre.

The challenge

During our detailed site survey, we identified that one of the existing walls was not structurally suitable to take the loading from the proposed cladding and framing system provided by DryKlad.

This required an alternative solution to be developed that would allow the new façade system to be installed safely without relying on the existing wall for structural support.

Our solution

Cladnation developed a bespoke oversail framework designed to span from floor slab to floor slab. This provided the necessary structural support for the new façade independently of the unsuitable existing wall.

Result

The completed installation has transformed the area, creating a clean, safe and high-quality new environment finished with Benx Cladcolour panels.
